Pack 3228 Adventures Aboard the U.S.S. Edson
Pack 3228 recently embarked on an unforgettable overnight adventure aboard the U.S.S. Edson, one of the most decorated destroyers in United States Navy history. Scouts and their families had the unique opportunity to step back in time and experience life aboard a real naval ship.

During our visit, Scouts explored the ship’s decks, passageways, crew quarters, and operational spaces while learning about the sailors who served aboard the Edson throughout its distinguished military career. The hands-on experience brought history to life and gave our Scouts a greater appreciation for the dedication, teamwork, and service of the men and women of the U.S. Navy.

As evening arrived, the adventure continued with our overnight sleepover on the ship. Scouts enjoyed spending the night in the same spaces where sailors once lived and worked, creating memories that will last a lifetime. For many, sleeping aboard a historic destroyer was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one of the highlights of the Scouting year.

The trip was filled with opportunities for learning, exploration, and camaraderie.
A special thank you goes out to our leaders, volunteers, and families who helped make this exciting experience possible. The U.S.S. Edson overnight was a tremendous success and perfectly captured the spirit of Cub Scouting: adventure, discovery, learning, and fun.
We are proud of our Scouts for representing Pack 3228 so well and look forward to many more adventures ahead!
